eBay UK Defect report tool now available

By Bayacademy Tuesday, September 16th, 2014

admin-ajax

We have recently been working with a number of our clients to identify why they are getting defects and they have found it hard to identify which transactions have been a problem from the defect report.

To help with this we have developed a tool that opens the correct sales record once you enter the Item and Transaction ID’s of multiple item listings.

As this is such a big help we have decided to make it available to everyone for FREE

Use eBay UK fulfilment services for Back to School promotions

By Bayacademy Tuesday, July 22nd, 2014

It hardly seems credible that August is nearly here; 2014 seems to be flying by.  For eBay sellers August is a very good month to promote eBay shops in readiness for the sales rush before children go back to school. If you are off on holiday during August it’s a great idea to consider using eBay UK fulfilment services so that you don’t lose out on a very busy time of the year.

Here are some handy tips for promoting you product listings to maximum potential:

  1. If you are paying for online advertisements such as Google Adwords or Facebook Ads, study your keywords and text and revise where necessary.  Think about the buyers you are targeting and use keywords/phrases like “high quality”, “back to school bargains”, “school books”, or anything related to your products that will attract people looking for them.
  2. To give your products and eBay shop more online visibility adjust your advertising budget and increase your bidding costs on those all-important keywords related to children going back to school (Category: Back to School)
  3. If you are going on holiday consider using third party services to help whilst you are away such as eBay UK fulfilment services, sales, re-pricing etc. In this way you can ensure that you make the most profit over what is historically a very busy period.
  4. Plan a social media, email or digital marketing campaign and launch it during the first week of August. You can use Tweetdeck or Buffer for a Twitter campaign and make sure that your Facebook page is set up to automatically receive Tweets. You can schedule Tweets weeks in advance that will also appear as posts on your Facebook page.

As the third quarter draws to an end this is the last period for your eBay shop to benefit from a major sales boost before the Christmas rush.

The use of eBay UK fulfilment services takes the stress away from you whether you are on holiday or simply inundated with orders. Bay Academy offers a wide range of affordable services to assist with all aspects of running an eBay UK shop. Indeed many of our clients hand over total control of their eBay UK shops to us particularly when they are using eBay UK as a secondary income stream.  You can keep your day job, spend your free time relaxing rather than packing and posting and let us take the responsibility for making your online business both profitable and successful.  Call us today to see what we can do for you.

Life’s a Drag for Bayacademy

By Bayacademy Friday, July 4th, 2014

Here is what we get up to a couple of times a month during the summer.

Drag Racing!

SummerNats2014

Our founder, George, is the crew chief on the Banzai Cobra Racing team. (That’s him in the red behind the car)

Having been involved in Drag Racing since the tender age of 18 way back in 1989, George has worked for various teams and also raced his own cars.

For the last two years he has been Helping Dave Rudd fight for championship points at York Raceway and last weekend they made thier way to the most famous Drag Racing strip in Europe – Santa Pod.

Unfortunately the weather didn’t play ball so they only won one race and spent a lot of time watching rain clouds. But just like selling on eBay if you put hard work in with the rtraiing and support you will quickly get to where you want to be. In 2013 (the teams first year) they narrowly missed out on winning the championship by 50 points!

As George always makes sure to be contactable to our consultancy clients you may at time find it very noisy when he answers the phone – now you know why!

Client Testimonial – Cosy Home Store

By Bayacademy Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014

We have recently had the pleasure of starting to work with Bernard at Cosy Home Store and have received the following feedback from him –

We worked with George to find out what we didn’t know about eBay.

In the course of our eBay health check plus George took time to fully understand our business before carrying out a thorough review.

It was fantastic to be able to have the webinar session with him, just like having an eBay consultant right here in my office and neither of us had to travel.

George made some recommendations that I have already put into practice and look forward to working with him in the future.

Take a look at the fantastic items Cosy Home Store sell here

The Bayacademy webinar system

Our webinar system allows us to work with clients all over the World without the costly and time consuming travelling time taken up in meetings.

An added bonus is that each of our sessions are recorded so that clients anc review them at their leisure and share them with colleagues.

Like Bernard and a lot of our clients say; its just like have an eBay expert in their offices as and when they need one.

I’m off to eBay head office in Richmond Surrey today and will keep on updating this post as I go. George

8.23 at Durham train station awaiting 8.37 train to kings cross. I love traveling by train when it’s on time. Got the only thing I need for the whole day with me, my iPad, work and entertainment all in one place!

8.48 On the train, on time, no one sitting in my seat and about to have tea and kit kat. Much better than driving!

11.35 just zooming through the outskirts of London approaching Kings Cross ahead of a jump onto the tube. Headphones and music on so I fit in with other passengers. I’m real excited about going to the eBay offices!

12.35 Just missed my connection at Hammersmith so delayed getting here to Richmond – gotta run along High Street now

12.50 Late but here!

13.05 This place is so cool! Having lunch and chatting with eBay sellers and Staff – look at the chill out area!

19.25 Time to leave – what a great day spent talking to eBay staff about different areas of eBay and look they even gave me a few goodies!

20.30 Back at Kings Cross awaiting the 21.00 train home and I found this cool shop at the station right next to platform 9 If you know nothing about harry potter you will not understand (Go read the books!)

00.32 Slight delay due to engineering works (should have been back 00.17) A tiring but fantastic day!

Baygroup joins Commonwheels car share club

By Bayacademy Sunday, November 4th, 2012

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – The 3 Rs that we try to adhere to here at Baygroup.

A big bit of our business – Bayagent – is all about Recycling items by selling them for our clients and we also Reuse loads of packaging even shredding junk mail to use as packing for our parcels

So when looking at staff transportation recently we decided that a big part of it should be Reducing our carbon footprint.

To that end we have joined the Commonwheels car club which gives us access to cars parked close by and we only pay for them when we use them, how greats that? We can easily add drivers to our account as we take on new staff so it’s really good for us.

The social enterprise is fantastic and is spreading across the country from right here in Durham City.

Have a look at their website to find out full details.

We will give you a full review once we have used a car for the first time!

Found and old friend on eBay – Our old Drag Racing Camaro

By Bayacademy Saturday, September 29th, 2012

Well, Well, Well – Look who I just found on eBay. (Look here )

Its our old 1998 Z28 Camaro that we Drag Raced last year and came 6th in the Sportsman class at York Raceway.

I was just starting to think about going racing again and decided to see what Camaros where available on eBay and I came across her.

I sold her at the end of last season, with a heavy heart, to a guy in Scotland and always wondered what had happened to her.

As you can see she still has on my race numbers on but is now missing its engine and gearbox.

I’m toying with a plan to launch a project to go racing again fully funded by selling stuff on eBay and all the things I need have to be bought on eBay.

My outline plan is to sell any stuff I can get hold of to get the money to buy and run a car in Drag Racing again. I plan to sell my own stuff and on behalf of others (they can decide what % over our usual fees they want back in exchange for their name featuring on the car and website). We also plan to build a website with links to social media so that people can follow our progress and learn how easy it is to get into drag racing.

What do you think of that idea?

In the mean time I’ve made enquiries as to how much the guys want for my old Camaro – it would be really nice to have an old member of the family back home again!
